Prince William County is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Weber as the new Chief of Staff in the Office of Executive Management, bringing more than a decade of strategic leadership in municipal government and executive coordination to the role. Her appointment is effective Aug. 4, 2025.
In her new role, Weber will work closely with the County Executive and the senior leadership team to coordinate executive priorities, drive cross-departmental collaboration, and ensure effective communication and accountability across the organization.
Weber has served in a range of leadership roles, most recently as Deputy City Manager for the City of Livermore, Ca., where she provided direct strategic counsel to the City Manager and oversaw Legislative Affairs, Communications, the City Clerk’s Office and administrative functions. She led the planning and execution of more than 50 major internal and external events annually, managed citywide initiatives, and played a critical role in organizational planning and stakeholder engagement.
"Marie brings deep experience, steady leadership and a collaborative spirit to this important role," said County Executive Chris Shorter. "Her proven ability to navigate complex challenges, lead across departments and build strong relationships will be instrumental as we continue advancing our strategic priorities and delivering excellent service to residents."
Over the course of her career, Weber has held multiple leadership positions across California local governments, including City Clerk and Assistant City Clerk roles in the cities of Rancho Cordova, Manteca and Yuba City. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and she is a Certified Municipal Clerk.
"It’s an honor to step into this role and support the County Executive and leadership team in advancing a shared vision,” said Weber. “I’ve spent my career in public service; and I’m deeply committed to fostering strong relationships and helping to guide operational excellence to best serve the organization and the community."
