Up to 2 ½ cubic yards (i.e., load equals the size of a standard pickup truck bed).

- Mattresses
Maximum five mattresses per trip.
- Wooden Pallets
Up to four (4) pallets. Larger amounts are not accepted.
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
Limited to 40 pounds of solid waste or 15 gallons of liquid waste.
- Electronics Recycling
Limited to three (3) units.
- Fuel Tanks and Drums
Cylinders must be empty, clean, and open on both ends. The HHW program only accepts propane cylinders 20 lb or less.
- Tires
Four (4) passenger car and truck tires per month.
- Batteries
(Common household, alkaline/single-use, rechargeable and automotive/lead acid) no limit.
- Used Motor Oil, Oil Filters, Antifreeze
5-gallon or smaller containers, up to 15 gallons.
- Household Appliances
Up to 2 ½ cubic yards (i.e., load equals the size of a standard pickup truck bed).
(Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers, stoves, etc.)

What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Certain hazardous materials may pose a risk to human health or the environment if placed in regular trash. Prince William County provides a special location at the County Landfill where hazardous waste may be dropped off for recycling and/or special handling.
The list of items identified below should be brought to the Landfill in their original labeled container. Be sure containers are sealed and packaged for safe transport. Accepted Residential materials include:

The PWC Landfill accepts used motor oil, used antifreeze, auto batteries and household batteries daily during normal landfill hours. The Compost Facility also accepts used motor oil, used antifreeze and household batteries during normal operating hours.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED at Solid Waste facilities, include explosives, ammunition, medical waste, unused medication, biological waste, asbestos, radioactive waste or unknown substances and business waste. Most medication maybe disposed of at designated police stations.
